1.
Why do I have to give so much information in order to join as a
visitor?
In
order for us to create a safe environment, we need to make sure
that the person joining is not merely creating a fictitious
account in order to get access to the community. The information
a visitor gives is identical to what a member gave; that levels
the field. We will review the information supplied. We
reserve the right to check out the accuracy of the information
given. Inaccurate information will result in the suspension of
the visitor.

2.
Why do I have to pay to join as Associate?
Unlike
other low cost internet providers, our overhead as a community
is much higher. A low cost internet provider can serve about
40,000 members with a single server. Our community, due to the
various services is limited to 3,000 members per server. Still,
our prices are just as low and could be the lowest after you
deduct the share of the non-profits.

3.
What does a server consist of?
We
have our own modular design for a server with a capacity of
3,000 members. Each server that comes online has several
redundancies (4 Hard Drives and a tape backup) and 2 types of
power backups. Data is backed up instantaneously within the
server and daily on site and off site. Our processors are
selected from AMD, not the fastest or most recent, but the ones
that have proved high reliability in a server environment. When
the capacity of a server reaches 2,000, another server comes
online within 24 hours.

4.
Why PayPal?
We
have selected PayPal as the payment method in order not to store
any financial information. Online payments are PayPal's main
business. We trust that they can do it more securely than we
can. Also, PayPal gives a variety of payment methods; not
everyone likes to use credit cards.

5.
If I join, can I still use my instant messenger?
Most
instant messengers are provided free of charge in order to
generate advertising income. Some might have reduced
functionality. From our experience, you will not lose your
buddies and friends.

6.
Compared to other IRC (Internet Relay Chat) chat servers, yours
seems restrictive?
We
have selected IRC as our chat server due to its power and the
freedom it gives the users. Yes, to some our chat server rules
might seem restrictive; the chat server rules reflect
management's wishes to create a family environment. We welcome
all suggestions that would improve the safety of the chat
environment. We can only monitor public chat rooms; we cannot
and will not monitor the private section of the chat server.
Individuals in that section enjoy total privacy.
