management of the community will select 5 non-profits
during the first 6 months in operation which starts June
15, 2004.
Thereafter,
it is the responsibility of the community to add the
non-profits of their choice by using the petitioning
process.

International
Performing Arts, Inc., a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3
corporation, has a mission of promoting performing arts from
cultures of the world through programs of study, research and
presentation of traditional, emerging and new multi-cultural
performing arts activities. |

Some
of our Goals are:
Sustain
on-going established programs of international cultural exchange
including Summer Institute, KPA On Tour, Sounds of the World, Summer
Sounds of the World and the Artist-In-Residence program.
Develop new multi-cultural programs related to the needs of
the local IPA urban community and home-base.
Create the Black Rock Art Center, a multi-cultural art center
for the creation and presentation, research and study of
international arts activities.

Non
Violence International - Since its founding in 1989,
Nonviolence International (NI) has provided assistance to
individuals, organizations and governments globally seeking
nonviolent means to achieve their social and political goals. |
|
The
goal of NI is to strengthen the ability of individuals or
communities to make decisions about situations affecting their
lives and to participate in defining their state's or nation's
interest by enhancing leadership and nonviolence skills. NI
promotes nonviolent action as an effective means for citizen
diplomacy and the resolution of conflict, as well as a powerful
alternative to violence. |
