Real time interaction with other activists, economic empowerment, and the empowerment of the individual are the focus of this effort. The Democracy workshop is an effort to give us, the pro peace and pro democracy activists, a venue that promotes our cohesiveness through an Internet community modeled as a democracy. The Democracy Workshop offers Internet access nationwide, a powerful Chat server, a voting server, petitioning server, and links to various activist and alternate media sites. Also, through our numbers and the Community Market Place, create an economic block that reflects our beliefs and values.

A majority of activists have been involved in various causes. Hundreds of thousands of us have marched, called, written letters, faxed, and attended teach ins. We form a large block of American society. Yet, our impact has a significant time lag. That does not diminish the strength of our causes. It only tells me that there is a need to augment our strength by presenting ourselves as an economic block. Unfortunately, it is not fairness or the truth that count, it is rather the bottom line.

The Democracy Workshop community is structured to make it easy for activists to be part of it and contribute by allowing them the freedom to select their level of involvement. We already have a demanding life, there is no need to complicate it further.
